Carter waved his hand, as if it Pfft him. With a grin he went onto the tips of his toes, trying to be taller. They were almost equally matched, no matter what he did. This kid was good. Turning around he showed his white teeth. "Same here." He said, simply, narrowing his eyes. Carter was examining the boy before him. So this is how tall he is. That was cool. He always wondered what he looked like to other people. "Hey did I get your name?" He asked, jumping, trying to make himself taller any way possble.

(*Thirteen, not fourteen. I was thinking ahead, his birthday's on New Years. Sorry bout that)
"I'm Lukas!", he said as he noticed the boy had caught up to his height. Using one hand, he pushed down on his head, making him taller for a fraction of a second before Carter recovered. "Annd, what about you?" He tried to jump on his tiptoes, which didn't work too well.

Jumping again, he laughted, now pushing down on Lukases head. Carter was going to be taller, and that was that. "Carter." He said, moving from side to side, trying to figure out how to grow taller then this kid. It was funny, the boy was just like him. "Like the shopping cart..." He said, thinking for a second before giggling like a little child.

"Carter, cool name!", he said loudly, thinking as the colors came to mind. Carter was a dull red, with a grey stripe going horizantal through it, with the texture of tiles. Just like the supermarket ones, he thought with a laugh. Running over to the concrete steps, he jumped off them, trying to be taller than him. Refuse to lose could be the saying of the moment, for both of them.
Scrunching up his face in concentration, he poked the boys shoulder. "WHOAA! LOOK AT THAT!" He pointed at something in the sky, tripping Carter, who stumbled as Lukas stood tall.

Landing on his butt, he looked up, scrunching his nose up towads the boy. That was a good trick, if only he had thought of that. Growling in his head he jumped up to his feet he shook his head, trying to get the dirt from his pants. The running up he jumped up onto the stair rail and balanced on it, now he was definitly taller then Lukas. It was hard to balance, but he managed to stay up there. "Whos taller now? Shorty." He muttered the last part under his breathe with a laugh.

Lukas was about to yell something to Carter about being short, when the boy lept up from the ground, balancing himself on the handrail. Blinking, he watched him swaying back and forth before hearing the insult. Shorty. With a small scowl, he looked around for something tall for him to stand on. Nothing. Turning his attention he turned back to the boy, thinking. He could push him off, but nah, that was cold.
He gave a jump, trying to be taller on last time, which didn't work. Folding his arms, Carter wobbled back and forth. Like he was skateboarding. Skateboarding! Turning around, he spotted a shopping cart he had seen before. Wheeling it over to the side of the building he slowly climbed up, balancing with a firm grip on the building, on the wire side of the cart. "Who's the shorty now?"

Putting another disapointed look on his face the boy snorted, wanting to be taller. Then without really thinking he grew tired of this game. Jumping into the cart, her wrapped his arms around the waiste of his new friend. Pulling him into the cart with him, he let go. It was all down hill from the entrence, so it would now be a fast ride down to the bottom of the hill. Hopfully there would be no cars, and no one in the way, because they could not stop unless they jumped out. Laughing, he leaned back, gaining speed.

Lukas nearly slipped off the edge as he was pulled down into the cart, his face pressed to the metal bars. "What was-WHOAA!", he yelped, noticed that they were speeding down the parking lot, heading for the road. Crap. Sitting up, he peered through the bars, a grin plastered on his face. Even though he knew that they would probaly get hit by a car right about now, this was the best ride of his life.

He could not stop laughing. Even though he knew there was a good possiblility he might die by being run over, or smashing into something he was enjoying this. It was all to fun. Looking back at Lukas he grinned, pushing himself up closer to the front. His whole body was pressed up against the bars, it hurt but he could not feal much through the excitment. "WEEEEEEE!" He screamed out, laughing like a mad man once more.

Lukas leaned forward, pressing his face against the cold bars of the cart as the wind whipped through his hair. Almost like one of those fantisies with Lukas and the girl in the car. Except there was no hot babe, only Carter. And they weren't in a fancy, red convertible, the best car in Lukas's view. Speaking of cars, here came one now, flying down the road. Breaking the speed limit easily, it must be going at least fifty, Lukas thought to himself, watching it for a moment before he relized something. Squinting, he noticed the man was on a phone. Not looking on the road. Holy crap.
Instinctivly, he elbowed his friend in the ribs, nodding to the car. "WE GOTTA JUMP!"

Looking at the car speeding towards him, the young boy's eyes grew wide in fear. He felt a surge of panic run through his chest like tiny needles poking his entire body. Swallowing a hard lump in his throat he nodded, looking towards his new friend wondering if he would be the last person he would see. Slowly and shakily he stood up onto his feet, gripping the cold metal bars of the cart. Then with one brave jump he lept off the cart, rolling into the side grass of the buildings before him. Now hopfully Lukas had jumped to.

Lukas felt fear paralyzing him as the car neared, the man still talking. His brain was screaming at him to move, but he seemed to be glued to the cart. Then it came to him, the man wasn't going to stop. This was it. Either move, or it would be over. Without having time to stand up, he tried to jump out of the cart, and ended up flipping over the side, landing on his back on the street, giving a yelp. The car collided with the cart as the man finally looked up,watching the cart bounce off the hood of the car, flipping in the air several times before landing on the sidewalk, nearly hitting a lady walking her dog.
Red shapes exploded in his head as the sound of screeching breaks of the car as it skidded to a stop. Lying on his black he rubbed his eyes, giving a soft cry. Damn this hurts, he thought to himself.
