Kirin sat comfortably on the leather couch supplied by her mother's friend in the medium-sized living room, eyes fixed on the TV. She'd been feeling great that entire day. She'd gotten the weekend off work to spend time with the family. So now, one arm around Charles and one around Carter, she sat, feet up, face lit up by the TV screen's faded blue, watching and processing "She's The Man" for the millionth time. Ayllie was on Carter's other side, curled into a ball with the nonexistent cold within the room. She'd been an idiot and forgotten to pack extra sweaters. She'd brought two for skiing and they were in the wash. So she had a thin blanket over her.

Charles looked over towards his cousin, who did not really seem to mind being stuck between to girls, expecially when one was Ayllie, his major crush. It seemed weird for a boy to be crushing so hard on a girl, but Carter was in love, and when he was in love he fell hard. Chuckling to himself, he pulled Kirin a bit closer to him, letting her body snuggle into him. Carter looked over towards Ayllie wanting to do the same, but feared rejection. The poor little guy did not want his heart broken. He had it happen to him before, and did not want to go through with it again. It jurt hurt to damn bad.

Kirin, following Joey's prior orders, looked Carter's way as he looked at Ayllie longingly. She laughed and shook her head. She leaned toward Carter and whispered in his ear, "Oh, just do it!" giving him a nudge. Ayllie wasn't gorgeous like she and Neassa, and she wasn't the best dressed, but she was the one with two cute boys hanging on her. Kirin had Charles, and that kept her content, but Neassa...no, not her. She was never content. Suddenly, a thought popped into her brain, so funny she had to share it with the guys. "Hey, guys, you know what I just thought....?" she asked, waiting for the "What?" cueing her to reply with her thought.

Being pushed, Carter felt himself fall into Ayllie. With a grin, he put his arm around her shoulders, looking towards her with as cute of a grin as he could possibly muster out of his small face. It was hard to pull out all of that confience. Infact he did not at all, it was Kirin who ulitimatly desided that he was going to put the moves on her, so to say.
Charles, who was not paying much of attention at all to his girl friend, muttered a few words. "Mmm?" He asked, his eyes dull and half closed. When the television was turned on, he was like a damn zombie.

Kirin laughed, "Don't Neassa and Felix make a great couple, guys?" she asked, eyes twinkling. Ayllie felt Carter fall against her and looked straight at Kirin, who gave her a thumbs - up. She rolled her eyes and rested her head against Carter's shoulder. She might as well have enjoyed it, "What?" she asked when she heard Kirin answer. She was shocked that her brother...and Neassa Newton made a good couple.

(Ayllie doesn't know about Felix not being her real brother. Only her father (His uncle) and the mother know)
That caught Charles attention. Looking at Kirin quickly there was a shocked expression on his face. Felix with anyone longer then a week? Felix not using someone? That was nerly impossible. Yes, Charles liked his friend Felix but there was no way that boy could settle down with just one person. "Kirin, you remember who we're talking about right?" He asked, still a bit confused that she would consider this.
The kid was so happy that Ayllie leaned her head on his shoulder that he really did not care about what or when Felix was doing anything at the moment. He just shrugged his slender shoulders, trying to act as cool as possible.

Kirin shoved Carter's head playfully. "Drop the daddy cool act!" she laughed, before turning back to Charles, "I'm serious! They're both such players! Felix flirts with ten girls at once and they still line up to date him, Neassa's stalked around by every boy grades seven through ten!" she looked from Carter to Charles, "Except you two...and Joey..." she looked down, grinning.
Ayllie was suddenly reminded of Carter's first name. Finnigan. Finnigan, Finigan, Finnigan, Finnigan! Hey, that was kinda fun to say. She laughed aloud softly.

Charles shook his head, not sure what to say to her. He guessed so, but two players could not be together at once. It would be sure disaster. One slip of either of them, and Felix's heart would be broken into two. Poor guy, he already had enough damage as it is without getting torn what was left inside of him. Bitting his bottom lip, Charles look over at Carter and smirked. "Carter, smooth...." He said, with a large grin plastered acrossed his rosey pink cheeks.
Giving him a look, Carter rolled his eyes, swatting his hands playfully at his cousin. "Yeah, that's what they call me." He said, pretending to pop his colar like they did in the sixties. "Felix is fucked. And they would make a really messed up couple." Carter knew from experience that Felix would probably be the weirdest boyfriend a girl could have. He rememberd when they were back in sixth grade, Felix was telling him that he had dumped his old girlfriend because she had gone through his desk.

Kirin groaned, "Whatever, don't listen to me, I'm just the smartest seventh grader we all know," she laughed, poking Charles in the ribs playfully. Her wet hair swung in its ponytail, filling the room with the familiar scent of orchid and coconut milk. It was her relaxing Herbal Essences shampoo-conditioner pack she'd refused to give up to her sisters when she went up to L.A.
She loved that stuff and had to bring it along. Ayllie smiled at Carter's antics. "I'm sooo gonna miss your rediculous sense of humor when I go up to L.A. with Kirin," she said, shaking her head. Her hair was wet too, but smelled of Pantene Pro-v.

Rolling his eyes playfully, he returned the poke, but with more of a tickle then a jab. Her weakness, and truely Charles's only weapon. "I thought you hates Felix?" He said, tilting his head to the side, relizing that he had said that one of her friends should be going out with him.
Carter laughed, not really feeling like he had been all that funny, but it was good to know that she had thought so. "Your hair smells grood." Then raising an eyebrow he shook his head. "I mean good... And great. Great and good."

Kirin jumped when Charles returned her poke and shifted around, then laughed under her breath, "Let's just say we're on a truce," she said mysteriously. Carter's attempt to be funny caught her eye. She'd always seen Carter as this tiny kid who loved everything. She couldn't help but to reach out and ruffle his hair like she would to her younger cousin, Jordan.
Ayllie slapped Kirin's hand away at she reached up. They both laughed. "And my hair doesn't smell good?" Kirin whined, "We use the same stuff!" Ayllie fluffed her straight, blonde hair, "Mine's prettier in it!" she said, teasingly.
